Phishing is a fraudulent cyber crime, usually attempted via email or telephone, to steal your personal information (credit card number, banking information, passwords etc.). We all have a part to play in protecting the organization from external phishing attempts. Look for these warning signs to spot a phishing attempt early:
  1. Email is from an external sender (indicated by the red warning label)
  1. Sender’s name does not match the email address (Ex: From: Joh Doe, Email: William.doe@gmail.com)
  2. Email includes many spelling and grammatical errors
  3. Sender’s signature is generic (Ex: Customer Service)
  4. Email includes a “Too good to be true offer” (Ex: You’ve won an iPad!)
