Assuring Hidden Data and Personal Information has been removed from Microsoft Office Documents

Are you familiar with Microsoft Office documents meta data, you may be telling people things you really don’t want them to know when you are sharing an electronic copy of the document?

Information:
Sensitive information that you deleted (or didn’t know about) may be buried in Word, Excel and PowerPoint files that you create.
When you send those files to other people, they can easily restore deletions and view comments that you previously removed. In addition, special programs can also be used to extract other hidden information.

Resolution:
The Document Inspector feature in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Visio can help you find and remove hidden data and personal information in documents that you plan to share.

Office 2016/Office 365
Open the document ->  File -> Info -> Click (Check for Issues – Inspect Document)
select the check boxes to choose the types of hidden content that you want to be inspected.
Click (Inspect) -> Review the results -> Click (Remove all)

Important:
If you remove hidden content from your document, you might not be able to restore it by clicking Undo.
